Inspiration

Many years ago, I was gifted a hip flask on my 18th birthday. Over the years, that flask traveled with me to a lot places. Although, I have many fond memories associated with that flask, I also found filling, drinking and pouring from it frustrating.

Ultflask – The Ultimate Hip Flask^® makes using a flask easy, as it eliminates the need for a measuring cup and funnel to fill to any desired level, reduces the likelihood of spillage due to overfilling.

Additionally, the typical flask is not comfortable to sip from, as there are coarse threads on the mouthpiece of the flask. I wanted instead for my lips to rest up against a smooth surface. Because the hole in the neck of most flasks is small, a funnel is required to fill them. The small hole causes an inconsistent flow rate or “gulping”. I wanted a flask that would be comfortable to sip from and would allow for a consistent pour.

The specially machined neck and cap offers several significant advantages. Unlike a typical flask, the mouthpiece’s diameter extends to the outer walls allowing for a larger opening. This significantly improves flow rate when pouring from the flask as air can enter as fluid leaves the flask. Because the specially tooled cap threads into rather than over the neck of the flask, there are no exposed threads, which dramatically improves mouth feel.
